A Valentine

I made this card in about 10 minutes because I had a sketch and color scheme to get me started. I'm tellin' ya.... if you haven't worked from a sketch or color combo, you are missing out. It is so much fun to see what different minds can create from the same inspiration. Here's my Valentine which cannot go to the Hubs now because he saw me photographing it.

The sketch came from Clean and Simple Stamping. I moved the ribbon because the red was throwing off the white on white effect. I hope it's okay.

I got the inspiration for the very simple style of this card from Susan Raihala. She usually makes the simplest one layer cards that look so clean, classy and expensive. Stop by and check out her work.
This easy card also fits the challenge over at Caardvarks. Just use red and hearts. Done.
Okay, supplies: cardstock, Stampin' Up! Whisper White; glitter, Martha Stewart garnet; ribbon, Michaels; I used George on my Cricut to cut the hearts and my Cuttlebug to emboss them. The glitter heart was cut from a Tacky Tape sheet.
What do you think?

  5. Oh, my goodness! This card is awesomely pretty! I can definitely see why you had to move the ribbon, too. Sketches are great (esp. Natasha's!) but you have to go where your design leads you. And this one is stunning!

Thanks for the kind words and call out.
